Supporting Migrants to Volunteer
Volunteering New Zealand is developing and delivering a nationwide programme to support better volunteering outcomes for recent migrants to Aotearoa New Zealand. They aim to strengthen volunteering opportunities for recent migrants and demonstrate how volunteering can make an important contribution to their positive settlement and inclusion in communities.
The Migrant Volunteering programme focuses on supporting the community and voluntary sector to enhance the way they reach out to migrant communities, engage with new migrants and actively support migrants as they participate in volunteering activities.
In Nelson, this programme is run in co-ordination with Volunteer Nelson and the Nelson Multicultural Council.
